Technical Problem Manager
Contract £550-650 per day
Technical Problem Manager sought for an international professional services firm. The Technical Problem Manager will join the ITIL Service Management function, taking specific responsibility for leading detailed investigation and resolution of the most complex technical issues. You will work closely with specialists from a wide range of disciplines, including Server and Platform Management, Networking, and Applications, to identify deep root causes and develop and implement long term solutions.
This is a great position for someone with a strong technical background who is also passionate about Service Management and developing fixes and solutions to improve technology performance and user experience.
Responsibilities will include:
- Investigating advanced technical issues first-hand as well as coordinating people from specialist teams across the IT Department
- Designing and implementing Solutions including producing documentation, liaising with Change Management, and producing comm's for the business
- Providing regular updates to Senior Stakeholders from both IT and the business
- Supporting other members of the Problem Management team in the evolution of Problem Management Processes
The successful candidate will have a strong technical background for this role, coming from either advanced 3rd/4th line support, or from a detailed technical design/ architecture role. You should have a wide range of knowledge spanning Server / Compute platforms, Storage, Networking and Security, EUC, Applications and more. This role could also suit someone with experience in an Infrastructure Manager type role looking to apply their leadership and coordination experience in a different context.
You should especially be passionate about Service Management, finding long-term solutions that improve user and customer experience, and enhance IT operations.
This is an initial contract role, but with the potential to move to permanent for the right person.
This role is a hybrid remote working position - currently working 1-2 days in the office, expecting to move to 2-3 days in 2022.
