Infrastructure/Operations Manager - Global Law firm, Data Centre, EMC SAN
Operations/Infrastructure Manager required by a rapidly expanding, leading international Law Firm of 4000+ users.
As an Operations/Infrastructure Manager you will be responsible for a team of 13 based in the firm's main London City office.
This consists of 3rd line analysts responsible for the high level support, design and continuous development of the firm's global infrastructure across 40+ offices.
This includes a variety of technology areas including Windows Server 2008, Exchange 2010, EMC Storage, MS Hyper-V, Symantec Netbackup and MS SQL Server 2008/2012 and Cisco LAN/WAN.
This is a high level and proactive role providing leadership for a highly technical team through a period of positive change as the firms expands and introduces new technology. This would involve setting up various standards, procedures and best working practices as well as being responsible for the implementation of appropriate infrastructure solutions for the business.
- Line Management of Infrastructure staff who operate 24/7/365, both on-site and by on-call rota, including a small number of staff who are located outside of London,
- Maintain a highly available storage platform (based on EMC technologies), delivering fit for purpose solutions for new and existing services
- Manage third party technology supplier relationships
- Design and maintain effective Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery technology and procedures
- Assist other technology teams in the implementation of system changes, deployment of applications, monitoring service health and troubleshooting problems
- To build structured, globally focussed documentation of all systems and procedures that are relevant to the Data Centre Infrastructure
As an Operations/Infrastructure Manager you should have previous, proven experience managing large infrastructure/data centre teams ideally in professional services environments. A high level of technical expertise in SAN, Virtualisation and Business Continuity solutions is highly beneficial.
