Operations/Infrastructure Manager required by a rapidly expanding, leading international Law Firm of 4000+ users.
As an Operations/Infrastructure Manager you will be responsible for a team of 11 based London and Uxbridge. This consists of storage and server analysts, and a variety of other staff across the firm who perform core infrastructure and database related activities and roles. This will include a range of technologies in a 24/7 environment including BES, Windows Server, SQL Storage, Exchange, Active Directory etc.
This is a highly proactive and progressive role as an Operations/Infrastructure Manager as you will be expected to lead the team from a technical perspective, make suitable process improvements as well as seek ways to cut costs.
Other duties include:-
Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management.
Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the executive team.
Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.
Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures
Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including SAN, NAS, Backup products, server operating systems, hardware configuration and equipment interconnects.
Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
As a Technical/Server Infrastructure Manager you will have similar experience in a large production environment being responsible for a range of technologies including level software BES, Windows Server, SQL, Exchange, Active Directory etc.). You should also have strong experience managing third party supplier/relationships in relation to these technologies.
The firms are expanding rapidly where you be responsible for the firms growing, global Infrastructure/Data Centre environment and play a key part in its continuous improvement/.
The role requires travelling to the Uxbridge office at least once and week and suits someone living in the area or west London.
Having an MCSE, ISM Basic or Advanced Certification and/or Xenapp, VCP is also highly beneficial.
